When your employer adds you to Ben, you get an invite email that lets you set up your account. This article explains what that email looks like, what happens when you open the link, and what to do if your link no longer works.
Your invite email
Your invite arrives with the subject "👋 Welcome to Ben!" and a Get Started button. It's sent to the work email address your employer registered for you — that's the address you'll log in with from then on.
Setting up from the link
Select Get Started in the invite email to set up your account:
If your company uses an email and password, the link lets you set your own password. Once you've set it, you're in — and you'll use that email and password to log in next time.
If your company uses single sign-on (you log in through Microsoft, Google, Okta or similar), there's no password to set. You sign in with your normal company login instead. If you want to understand how that works, see What is SSO?.
If your invite link has expired
Invite links expire after a while for security, so if you're setting up your account a while after the email arrived, the link may no longer work. You can get a fresh one:
Ask your employer's HR or Benefits team to resend your invite — an admin can resend it from the admin area (ECC).
Or contact our support team and we can help.
Use the link in the new invite email to finish setting up.
If you were added through your company's HR system
At some companies, your details come into Ben automatically from an HR system. Being in that system doesn't always send your Ben invite straight away — the invite is sent separately. So if your details are with your employer but you haven't had a "👋 Welcome to Ben!" email, ask your HR or Benefits team to send your invite.
